Spy Photos: First images with the new BMW i3

Those from CarPix managed to photograph the new i3, while it was filmed by a BMW team.

Both the i3, and older brother i8 will get LifeDrive architecture and will be produced in Leipzig. i3 is equipped with an aluminum chassis and a passenger cell made of carbon fiber reinforced aluminum.

The motors the put in motion the rear wheels are delivering 136 horses, while lithium-ion battery offers 35 kWh.

i3 has a length of about 4 meters, which makes it the smallest BMW model .

This fall, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, we could see the concept variants of i3 and i8. Both models will debut on the market in 2013.
