The concept is hiding under the hood a turbocharged petrol engine, capable of delivering 210 horsepower (157 kW). Thomas Weber, one of the Mercedes officials said that all gasoline engines available on the future A-class will get turbocharged. Double clutch box will be an option, while a manual gearbox remains standard. All versions will be equipped with stop-start system to reduce emissions.
Thomas Weber offers to the most demanding a smile on their face, saying the new A-class will also an AMG variant.
What i admit, I really love in case of Mercedes, is the fact that always when entering in a new segment, are able to build beautiful cars, in many cases even amazing, but in terms of consumption have failed to beat the guys from BMW, the Bavarians are much ahead in terms of security related technologies, I am referring in particular to Driver Assistance Technology, an element that can represent the difference between life and death, the Bavarians managed to be something even more advanced than Volvo with their City Safety. I think not even the new generation A-class will be more effective than 1 Series on consumption or safety, but Mercedes knows quite well to offer stealthily prices, just because it looks much better, and this bothers me tremendously. In my opinion, this model will cost at least 20,000 euros (29,590 $/17,779 sterling).
