Official: BMW presents the new 2012 M5 F10 concept

Bavarian manufacturer has released the first images and information with the concept which prefigures the future 2012 M5 F10, which will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the fall.

The series version will take about 99% of aesthetics implemented on this concept, which I think is a very good news, I don't think anyone can contradict me. We've all seen the new M5 looks something more quiet than the old generation, but the truth is that we are still dealing with an impetuous beast, dressed in a quite aggressive design expressed by aesthetic elements as modified front bumper, embellished by three large air intakes for engine cooling and to emphasize the car's sporty character. We can not overlook the elegant 20 inches alloy wheels, covered with 265/35 ZR20 tires. The front wings are featuring of ostentatious chrome ornament ennobled by M Division logo. Rear greets us with four chrome exhaust pipes, a deflector and a very discreet aileron.

Unfortunately, the Bavarian manufacturer continues to be mysterious regarding the engines. It is a V8 TwinTurbo engine whose performance were not disclosed. But the latest rumors indicate a power between 555 and 600 horsepower (408-441 kW). The engine will be assisted by a seven-speed automatic gearbox with dual-clutch, called DCT Drivelogic.

Future BMW M5 F10 owners will have available four driving modes titled: Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and M.

For now, these are the known details about the new M5.
