Geneva 2011: New Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 was presented

Lamborghini presented at the Geneva Motor Show the long awaited Aventador LP700-4, which is famous Murcielago replacement.

Compared with the Murcielago, the new supercar offers lower overall weight, more power, increased efficiency and higher performances.

Aventador hides under the hood a 6.5 liter V12 with dry sump and developes 691 horsepower, the total overall weight of the model being 1575 kg. Also, future owners will have all-wheel drive and will enjoy a sprint from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, the maximum reaching the value of 349 km/h (217 mph).

Curious to know where it comes from the name of Aventador? From a bull that fought in Spain in 1993.

Engineers have used excessive carbon fiber to significantly reduce total weight, having aluminum double-wishbone suspension and a shock like those in Formula 1. Also, the Aventador comes with a manual robotic transmission with seven-speed dual-clutch.

The new gearbox is named ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) and was developed by Lamborghini and Graziano. It can change speeds by 40% faster than the Gallardo robotic transmission and weighs only 70 kg. The new gearbox offers three modes of use: a comfort one titled Strada, Sport mode, the third was given the name of Corsa.

Among the options will include transparent engine cover and wheels dressed in black, painted calipers and parking sensors.

It is possible that the next step of the Italian manufacturer to be the launch of a Sesto Elemento limtate edition, following after that to debut the production version of Estoque.

The price of Lamborghini
Aventador LP700-4 is 285,467 euros (242,280 sterling/394,916 $).
