The prototype of the new Mercedes GL generation was surprised at the tests alongside SLS AMG Roadster.The new GL has larger dimensions. The front is similar to that of R-Class facelift. The prototype of the pictures has AMG wheels, which means it could be a GL63 AMG or standard version, but which features an AMG equipment package.
So far, no information about engines, but some voices indicate that among the options might be included a twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8 capable of delivering 429 horsepower and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine that could produce 255 hp. In the GL63 AMG's case, the information indicates a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that produces 537 hp.
In the case of SLS AMG, the German giant offers a 6208 cc engine that develops 563 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. This unit is assisted by a double clutch 7-speed transmission. SLS AMG Roadster can reach 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 309 km/h.
