Geneva 2011: Alfa Romeo 4C



Alfa Romeo has launched at Geneva a new concept called 4C, its production version will hit the market in 2012.

Little Italian jewel is about four meters in length and a wheelbase that measures less than 2.4 meters.

The machine is equipped with a turbocharged 1.7-liter gasoline motor taken from Giulietta, who is assisted by a dry-clutch transmission.

Although Alfa has not revealed the engine power, Autocar says the unit is developing about 232 horsepower. It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than five seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Alfa 4C comes with double-wishbone suspension front and rear MacPherson struts.

The total mass is only 850 kg, due to excessive use of carbon fiber.
