Infiniti M35 Hybrid is equipped with a pedestrian warning system

Infiniti has unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show the M35 Hybrid, which is the world's first hybrid model that has a warning system for pedestrians and cyclists.

Infiniti M35 Hybrid is equipped with a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine with 24 valves, accompanied by an electric motor that develops 50 kW (37 hp), both engines able to produce 350 horsepower together. The Japanese model has an automatic gearbox with seven gears.

Audio warning system for pedestrians and cyclists is called VSP (
Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians). This system is controlled by a computer connected to a speaker integrated into the front bumper. But unfortunately this system works only up to a maximum speed of 30 km/h.

Depending on vehicle speed, the sound of this system may have a low or a high frequency. Infiniti M35 Hybrid can reach up to 100 km/h if only the electric motor works, but this system will not work thanks to
the too small noise produced by the electric motor.
