The body benefits from the same design language implemented on convertible version. Unfortunately, the new model makes me miss the old generation, where sportsmanship, sensuality, aggressiveness and especially originality seem to knit one another. These qualities were at a more advanced level. The back is very similar to that of Peugeot 406, the front seems quiet, remembering of the typical Peugeot design. The side is similar to that of 407. All view seems that ceases to be specific BMW. BMW's design, as we knew it until recently, dies more and more. But still, the new 6 Series is a very elegant car, which many will want in their garage.
At first, the Germans will give to the public two turbo petrol engines: a 3.0-liter unit with six-cylinder engine that delivers 314 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque, if the 640i version. The second option is a V8 of 401 hp and 599 Nm (442 lb ft), which is hidden under the hood of 650i variant.
The new model will reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds and promises a mixed consumption of just 6.4 liters (36.7 mpg). The 650i variant, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, average consumption is 8.4 liters (27.2 mpg).
In the future there will be offered a 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder unit capable of delivering 296 hp and 599 Nm (442 lb ft) of torque.
