Land Rover Defender - new modifications

Although the next Defender generation is scheduled for 2013, Land Rover will launch early 2011 an updated version of the British model.

Land Rover Defender will be offered in two variants, one with short wheelbase and other with long wheelbase. In terms of bodywork, there are no changes, the options are: Pick-up, Douable Cab and Station Wagon.

Regarding the engine, the offer is low, being only one engine available, a 2.1-liter diesel engine capable of delivering 120 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. The model has a
6-speed GFT MT-82 manual transmission. Also, the Land Rover Defender is equipped with a four-wheel drive with locking center differential. The car hits 100 km/h in 15.8 seconds. Consumption is 10 liters per 100 km. CO2 emissions meet Euro 4 standards specific criteria.

Land Rover Defender has ground clearance worthy of a true 4x4. The model benefits of an attack angle of 49 degrees and one of clearance of 47 degrees. Defender's wheels are wrapped in tires of 205 or 235, depending on the version. These details sits the Land Rover Defender in a leading position in terms of skills offroad level.

The British model has the ability to tow a
load of maximum 3,500 kg.

This improved version will be produced until 2013, when it will be launched next generation Land Rover Defender, with a special design and specific
British brand off-road skills.
