President of the Bavarian giant, Norbert Reithofer, following a recent meeting with shareholders BMW, said that Active Hybrid technology will be implemented on the 3 Series model, which is known as the F30. BMW 5 Series Active Hybrid will be launched in 2011, but the hybrid version of 3 Series will appear in 2012.
Reithofer also said that in 2012 will be appearing on the market a hybrid model of small class, whose hybrid technology will resemble very much with that of the French group Peugeot-Citroen.
The two groups have made a partnership a few days ago in order a to develop a hybrid drive train.
