German manufacturer intends to make a hybrid version of the A8, which will be equipped with a 4-cylinder petrol engine. Direct opponent of this model is the Mercedes S 250 CDI, the first model from the S-Klasse range, which features a 4-cylinder engine.A8 hybrid's debut is scheduled for 2012. BMW also is preparing a rival for the S 250 CDI, which is the electric version of the 7 Series, but unfortunately this is just a project.
Mercedes-Benz S 250 CDI hides under the hood a 2.2 liter diesel engine that develops 204 horsepower. The car benefits of Stop-Start technology, which makes the car's average consumption 5.7 litres/100 km, with emissions of 149 g/km.
