BMW recently released official pictures and details on the new 6 Series Convertible.From an aesthetic point of view, the changes are major. Also, dimensions are higher. Thus, the length is 4.89 meters, by 7.4 cm bigger than the previous generation, the width is 1.89 meters (3.9 cm larger than its predecessor), the height is 1.36 meters, 0, 9 cm higher than the previous generation, the wheelbase is 2.85 meters, 7.5 cm higher. BMW claims that the structural stiffness of the car was also increased, being 50% higher than the old 6-series convertible.
The codename of the new 6 Series Convertible is F13 and benefits of a textile roof with a light and compact structure. Roof elimination is made in 19 seconds through a special mechanism. Car coverage is done in 24 seconds. But these two operations can be performed only up to a maximum speed of 40 km/h. Inside the trunk can be placed objects with a mass which must not exceed 350 liters.
In terms of engines, the most powerful version will be equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops 407 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque between 1750 and 4500 rpm. The new 6 Series Convertible is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed (electronically limited) of 250 km/h. The average consumption calculated for this model is only 9 litres/100 km, CO2 being 185 g/km.
In future, there will be a diesel version, available only in Coupe's case, it will be a bi-turbo engine of 286 horsepower. The future M6 will be equipped with a 4.4-liter V8, which develops 555 horsepower, as in the case of X5M and X6M.
