Geneva 2011: Toyota FT-86 II

Toyota unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show a new concept called FT-86 II and it was developed in collaboration with Subaru. The new model is a more advanced version of the concept shown in Tokyo in autumn 2009.

Toyota says it is the clearest indication regarding the final design of the next Japanese fireball.

The body has a very provocative design, covered with very aggressive forms especially regarding posterior, where designers have drawn a very impressive deflector, one of the items that emphasize the most the car's sporty character. Front spoiler is very elegant, reminds me a little about that of Aston Martin One-77. Overall, the view is downright delightful, and the thought that the production version might not look as good as the concept... I'm pretty sad.

Toyota FT-86 has a 2.0 liter engine located on the rear for a lower center of gravity but also for an optimal distribution of weight.

Production version of this concept is scheduled to debut in 2012.
