Spy Shots: BMW testing future i8

BMW engineers are assiduously testing the long-awaited supercar, called i8, which is based on the famous concept Vision EfficientDynamics presented in 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The concept which this model is based on was equipped with a hybrid powertrain with a diesel engine. But recent media reports rumors indicate that instead of this engine, the Germans would enter a hybrid system with a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit, certainly in order to increase model performances.

Once it reaches the market, the fireball will be the flagship of the i range. i8 interior offers 4 seats, sprinting from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) is achieved in 4.8 seconds. Bavarian supercar boasts a fuel consumption of just 3.7 liters (62 mpg). German jewelry price will be somewhere around 140,000 euros (200,000$/123,000 sterling).
