Mercedes unveiled today the first official informations and images of the CLS 63 AMG. The new CLS 63 AMGundergone some aerodynamic changes. The model will be equipped with an M157 twin-turbo V8 engine that will be available in two versions, the first being able to deliver "only" 518 horsepower and 698 Nm of torque. This CLS version can reach 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and a top speed (electronically limited) of 250 km/h, and if the most demanding feel that this engine is too fragile for them, Stuttgart giant takes care that even its most demanding customers to be satisfied, so that the second version of the CLS 63 AMG providing the option PERFORMANCE PACKAGE, is capable of developing 550 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque . In this way the German graceful beast can reach 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and a top speed electronically limited this time also, of 300 km/h.In terms of consumption, the new CLS 63 AMG is 33% more efficient than the previous generation.
The model is equipped with a seven-speed Speedshift MCT 7 transmission, equipped with a start-stop system, available in C mode (Controlled Efficiency). When the gearbox works with Sport Mode (S) or Sport Plus (S +), the fuel saving system becomes inactive, in order to enhance the feeling of pleasure while you driving. Is available also the M mode of Speedshift gearbox, which gives the driver the possibility to change gears using the shift paddles located behind the wheel.
German manufacturer introduced on this model a starting asistence system, called Race Start. On the technology package we can also find an adjustable suspension with three features: Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. CLS 63 AMG also features the new AMG servo system. On the ESP system of the German model it can be selected three levels of intervention.
The 19-inch wheels with five spokes wrapped with 255/35 tires (front) and 285/30 tires (rear), are hiding behind them four 360 mm perforated discs. The calipers are painted red.
Outside, we see a modified front spoiler, large air intakes, in the rear a deflector with four tailpipes.
When the commercial launch will take place, Mercedes will unveil a special version of the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG, called Launch Edition, whose body will have the color Manganite Grey Magno, interior will be equipped with a leather in Corteccia Pearl color, mixed with Alcantara of anthracite color. This special edition will be ennobled with carbon fiber and black wood finishes.
