Sergio Marchionne said Alfa Romeo will not enter in the VW portfolio

Sergio Marchionne announced that under no circumstances will yield to offer of Volkswagen, to take possession of the Italian company.

"
As long as I am CEO of Chrysler and Fiat, Mr [Ferdinand] Piech will never have Alfa Romeo ", said Marchionne in a statement.

Head of
Italian-American alliance, he applied a very incisive reply to VW boss, saying: "
I'm not the one who bought Seat. He's the one who bought it. I don't know if he can [fix it], but he needs to try."

Heads Volkswagen, Ferdinand Piech and Martin Winterkorn have repeatedly expressed their intention to buy Alfa Romeo.

Last year at the Paris Motor Show, Winterkorn told Autocar: "
Alfa’s a beautiful brand but there are quality issues with the engines and suspension systems for example." The official said he's confident that he could make the Alfa brand that once was.
