Renault has presented at Geneva the Megane CC version, continuing the story begun with the previous generation of the convertible coupe.
If the previous generation Renault Megane CC has introduced the retractable metal roof, now the French have brought another innovation to the Megane CC. Is about the roof in two parts glazed supported by a metal smoky frame, which gives the impression that you are in a large glass flask. This solution has the advantage that it is even easier, decreasing the total weight of the car.
Instead this model has the lowest volume of the trunk in its segment with the roof raised, but also with him on the positions, having a capacity of 211 liters, respectively 417 liters. Renault sayz that the new system censor less of opening the boot, the CC's traditional weakness, and anyone can more effectively take advantage of all the space.
A new innovation that begins with this model is the transmission with dual-clutch EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch), the first of this kind to Renault. According to official sources, this solution reduces emissions by 17% compared to traditional automatic gearbox. It is such an economic solution being offered also with the 1.5 dCi 105 hp engine. The Diesel range also includes dCi 160 and dCi 130 engines, plus those on gasoline, the TCE 130 bhp and 2.0 16v 140 bhp. Last engine comes with optional CVT box.
The model was launched in Geneva in 2010 and will enter in the European market in June.
