BMW Vision ConnectedDrive concept was unveiled

BMW has released official information and images with the new Vision ConnectedDrive concept, which is expressing the new stylistic language which will be implemented on the Vision Efficient Dynamics production version, scheduled to debut in 2013. The future Megacity EV will also benefit of the new design line.

Connected Vision Drive is a two-seat roadster, whose front end is similar to the muzzle of a shark, it also reminds me a little of Chevrolet Camaro. If we look carefully there is a strong resemblance between the two models, regarding the the headlights and grille. The back reveals the two L-shaped taillights. The back shows a similar design with
GranCoupe concept presented in Beijing last year, only this time the Bavarian designers have pushed this design line to a not too distant future. The rear end takes a few elements of Carrera GT. Overall, the lines are extremely ostentatious and very elegant.

The interior is pretty stingy on details, but we see that BMW is going to a completely different design. I am easily disappointed. Yes, it's true, the new Bavarian design language is very elegant, but it seems lacked of originality, they are starting to take all sorts of aesthetic elements from various models of other manufacturers, Beijng GranCoupe concept's butt looks similar to Peugeot's 406, the future 6 Series Coupe caught without camouflage in one of the tests presents a similar side to that of Peugeot 407. This lack of originality I dislike, even if it's a very nice visual effect. The question remains: how would have looked like the future BMW models with a totally original language design?

Sliding doors are inspired by Z1, produced in a limited amount of copies between 1989 and 1991.

The interior is equipped with a high-performance driver information. Conventional clutch was removed. The following BMW models will display information such as running speed in three dimensions.
