2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the star of the Chicago Auto Show

Although I am a big fan of European cars, I must admit that Americans know how to make special machines. I can not compare a Camaro with a Ferrari 458 Italia for example, or a McLaren MP4-12C. But the Camaro has something special. Brute force crowns the aggressive design and quite elegant at the same time.

Camaro ZL1 has a history that begins in 1969. At that time U.S. monster was hiding under the hood 6997 cc (427 cubic inches) engine. The car was so exclusive, that only 69 units were built.

Chevrolet wanted to revive the legend by creating a variant dressed with technology and current design trends. But the essence remains the same: POWER AND SPEED.

The new Camaro ZL1 is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 that provides about
550 horsepower. This power will be transmitted to the rear axle with a six-speed manual gearbox and double clutch. Performance braking system is from Brembo, who hides behind the 20-inch wheels, aluminum Goodyear Supercar F2 specially developed for ZL1.

From an aesthetic point of view, the new Camaro ZL1 comes with a front splitter, vertical fog lights, air intakes for brake cooling, which fully manage to enhance the model sporty allure. Aluminum hood features a sumptuous air intake carbon fiber for increased downforce in order to direct air over the car.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be available for sale in early 2012, all the Camaro's specific colors will be offered.
