First images with Fiat Freemont, the European version of Dodge Journey

Fiat Freemont was officially unveiled. Freemont is the European version of Dodge Journey. The model will make its appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March, being available on the market in the second half of the year. The model will be assembled at Chrysler plant in Toluca, Mexic, where it is assembled also the American version of Fiat 500.

Freemont is a flexible
and quite practical car in the same time, providing generous dimensions. Thus, length has a value of 4980 mm, width 1880, height being 1720 mm. Freemont boasts with the longest wheelbase in this segment: 2890 mm. Because of this element, the interior has 7 seats. Passengers will have greater access to the third row, because the rear doors have a maximum opening angle quite generous: 90 degrees. If you need a more generous trunk, seats of the third row can be folded with one simple move.

Under the hood of the new Freemont, will be available a 2.0-liter Multijet engine in two power variants, the most economical having 140 horsepower, while the "hungry" will offers a stud of 170 horsepower.

The first will be equipped with front-wheel drive and manual gearbox, but along the way will be availabe a version with automatic transmission. Also, the Italian manufacturer, will
offer in case of this model some four-wheel drive versions. In the standard version, Fiat Freemont comes with seven airbags, ABS with Brake Assist, ESP system with Hill Holder and an electronic safety system to significantly reduce rollover risk.
