Volkswagen Beetle R: Frog With Moss Comes To Frankfurt

Volkswagen Beetle, that cute frog who over the years has enjoyed of a phenomenal success in terms of sales, was particularly beloved by women. Who would have thought that in the future will receive a more "muscular" version?

There are no official figures, but according to sources at the Car and Driver performance variant will be called the Beetle R and is scheduled to debut this fall in Frankfurt. Under the hood of the German model will be a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine capable of delivering 237 hp.

Little toy will have front-wheel drive, sports suspension and other items.

In future, there could be a convertible version of Beetle R.
