The new generation shows a very exciting design that promises a stunning commercial success. The concept takes a lot of elements from the design language which first debuted in 2008 on the Fascination concept.
According to sources, the serial version will keep a good part of the aesthetic elements of the concept, but the ceiling will be somewhat higher and will have a panoramic glass roof with generous dimensions.
Platform implemented on the new A-class is called the MFA and is addressed only at Mercedes-Benz models.
There is little information about engines, but the German company confirmed a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline and 204 horses (150 kW), assisted by a seven-speed and double-clutch transmission. Diesels are 2.2 liter engines with power ranging between 130 and 180 horsepower (96 kW-130kW). For those eager for a more performant variant, the Stuttgart manufacturer could offer an AMG version will hide under the hood a 2.0-liter turbo engine capable of delivering 320 horses (227 kW).
Regarding the interior, it's much more advanced in terms of quality than the previous generations. Pursuant to Mercedes-Benz, all plastic materials and ornaments have been taken from the C-class.
