Maserati will launch three models by the beginning of 2014: the Quattroporte's successor, a smaller sedan and an SUV




Italians want by these models to reach 20,000 units sold annually, a very bold goal, considering that Maserati sales record was held in 2008 and registered 8600 units sold. In 2010, the Italians have sold no less than 5675 copies.

Quattoporte replacement is codenamed M156 and is scheduled for release in autumn this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Under the hood of the new model will be a more effective varianta of the 4.7-liter V8 engine. The model will compete with Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide.

Lower-class sedan is codenamed M157. It will debut in late 2013, according to InsideLine.com sources. It will have a price would rise around 50,000 euros. M157's opponents will be BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Somewhere between 2012 and 2013, Maserati will present an SUV that from an architectural point of view, will be based on the Jeep and Alfa Romeo models, but its design will remain specifically Maserati. The model will get more powerful engines, it's possible that at least one to be taken from Ferrari.
