2011 Detroit: Toyota Prius V - long awaited MPV



Toyota recently unveiled the highly anticipated Detroit minivan. The fresh model provides some dimensions worthy of a family car.

Prius V has a length of 4.62 meters, a width of 1.78, a height of 1.57,
wheelbase being 2.78 meters. The interior of the new model is 50% higher than the version available presently on the production line.

V benefits of the same Atkinson 1.8-liter petrol engine, which produces 98 horsepower (73kw/99 PS). This is accompanied by an electric motor that develops 80 horsepower (60 kw/81 PS). Combined, they manage to deliver an output of 134 hp (100 kw/136 PS).

The new Prius V has aerodynamic coefficient of 0.29, an element that greatly influences fuel economy. Monocab consumption is 5.6 liters in city, highway 6.2-liter, mixed consumption is 5.9 litres/100 km.

The interior greets us with a new multimedia system called Entune, through which customers can use some mobile phone applications. This system also gives the option to search for weather information, about the fuel price, sport domain or information regarding traffic.

Japanese minivan offers in standard 16-inch wheels wrapped in 205/60 tires. As an option, is available a set of 17-inch wheels dressed in 215/50 tires.

The Toyota Prius V will be launched this year.
