Official: 2012 Buick Regal eAssist will consume between 9 and 6 litres/100 km (26-37 mpg)

eAssist technology first debuted on the 2012 Buick LaCrosse on Auto Show in Los Angeles last year. General Motors officials announced at the time that this technology will be introduced in other models in their portfolio.

And they kept their word, the system being applied also on the 2012 Buick Regal
, which hides under the hood a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, that is accompanied by a 15 hp electric motor. Regal eAssist will offer a 9 liters in the city and 6 liters outside.

The new Regal eAssist will not be the base for the future
Regal range engines. Its bigger brothers of Regal eAssist are Regal Turbo and future GS. Unlike the standard version of the Regal, which is equipped with a series of 18-inch wheels, the new version proposed by the american manufacturer benefits from a set of 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels, a so-called eco mode for the air conditioning system, etc.
