Jaguar will launch a model by which they want to exterminate the BMW 3 Series. There will be also a crossover.

Meet Jaguar model that will eliminate the 3 Series. British manufacturer will also bring to the market a crossover. The two models will be launched until the middle of this decade.

The two UK models will be priced from 47,000 euros (64,088 $/40,000 pounds). These two models, together with the XE model, are part of a project called the X760. Through the XE, Jaguar plans to raise sales to 100,000 copies sold annually. In 2010, the British had a major success, with 52,000 units sold, but those from Tata have their claims, and they want the sales value to be doubled.

The new sedan will be based on aluminum monocoque platform RD7, because the model will have a quite low
total mass, this contributing to significant efficiency gains in consumption and pollution levels.

This platform will be implemented on the next Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Platform also wears the name of Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA).

The replacements of XF (slated for release in 2015) and XJ (scheduled for 2018) will receive RD7 platform, realized in the biggest part by the engineer Mick Mohan, from Jaguar.

Little British
sedan has a length of around 4.8 meters, rather similar to the current 5 Series. But BMW 3 Series F11, will have a greater length in future.

Regarding the engines, the European market will get a version equipped with a 2.2 liter diesel, which is found under the bonnet of the Range Rover Evoque. The engine will develop between 150 and 200 horses.

Markets that will receive the gasoline variants will have to choose between a 1.6-liter version and a 2.2-liter Ford EcoBoost, also with powers between 150 and 200 horses.

As of the crossover that will make its appearance until the middle of this decade, he is the biggest surprise, because this model is just a huge distance of Jaguar's tradition. But British's main purpose is to reach a high level of sales. And the crossover market, being in a growing, would help them achieve their goal.

This model will benefit from the PLA platform. It will compete with the Infiniti FX. Under the hood of the small crossover will be a 2.2 liter diesel and petrol units between 1.6 and 2.0 liters.
