Koenigsegg Agera

To commemorate 15 years of activity, Christian von Koenigsegg wants and receives a serious gift: the new model Koenigsegg Agera, a 910 hp supercar that will be produced in 20 copies annually.

In Greek, the word "ageratos" means "timeless", "something that is not aging". And in Swedish, the language of the new supercar Koenigsegg Agera, it means "action." Terms which fit like a glove to the new supercar, which can be admired for the first time in Geneva 2010.
Koenigsegg Agera is wanted as a tribute to those 15 years of existence of the small Swedish factory, but also as a bridge with the first concept developed by Christian von Koenigsegg, CC, which dictated the design philosophy of subsequent model series CCX, supercar which has brought the Swedish name in the spotlight of the public with money and keen to the exclusive and powerful cars.

Agera is based on the services of a bi-turbo V8 engine, 4.7 liters, same for the Koenigsegg CCX. The new inlet and overcharge system giving to the engine 910 HP/6.850 rpm and torque that reaches the value of 1100 rpm Nm/5.100, of which 1000 Nm are available in the range from 2680 to 6100 rpm. No wonder they have announced extreme performances: 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.9 seconds and maximum speed reached is 390 km/h.

Agera is based constructively on the CCX model, but manages to show very good appearance of the new model: front spoiler and hood are differently shaped, headlights have received LED position lights, successfully integrated, taillights are now one-piece, waiving to the solution of pair with three optical blocks and the spoiler is simpler but no less effective.
The doors have remained the same unusual opening up, providing access to a highly personalized interior and benefiting, for the first in the history of the brand, of a new illumination system, named "Ghost Light" - light shines through aluminum buttons because of nanotubes, the symbols are very visible, and has a very stylish overall appearance.

The new information display system is intuitive and can provide the basic information related to air conditioning, navigation system or multimedia and personalized data, such as G-meter or conometer. And because we are talking about a very exclusive supercar (only 20 units will be built annually), the interior is customized with the most expensive materials, carbon fiber and leather (with visible seam) being plentiful.

Agera brings also some innovations on "Electronics" chapter: the functioning mode of ABS can be quickly adjusted by the driver, and new traction control system is a function of automatically adjusting driving style and conditions of running, but allows also manual setting. From the sport specifications list is not missing ceramic disks or special tires designed with Michelin.

The price of the new Koenigsegg Agera will be communicated to the Geneva Motor Show 2010, where the company will receive first orders, to be honored in 6 months.
