New York 2011: Jaguar XF facelift

Jaguar brings to the New York Auto Show a restyled version of XF, which has practically became an XJ with reduced sizes.

As I said, the new XF takes many aesthetic elements from XJ. This model has become more exciting, with ostantious lines, which tend to stick your eyes of the screen. The front has a redesigned grille, bi-xenon headlights accompanied by LED daytime driving, just like the taillights, which have also been revised, they somewhat resemble with those of Aston Martin. It looks beautiful, but little more originality would not hurt.

Unfortunately, the interior seems in contrast with the exterior. Most items that appear in the image are having a downright hideous allure. Simplicity reigns almost everywhere. However, the seats have received visible improvements, the display for monitoring vehicle functions has been modified, like the audio system.

Under the hood, British engineers have introduced a 2.2-liter diesel engine with four cylinders, capable of delivering 187 hp (190 PS/140 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). He is assisted by an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new sedan offers a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). Facelift Jaguar XF boasts an average fuel consumption of just 5.4 litres/100 km (52.3 mpg UK/43.5 mpg US) and emissions of 149 g/km.
