A BMW official said the future Megacity will be more expensive than Nissan Leaf, a model that costs 30 000 euros. He said that the reason the price reaches a higher level is that it's a premium produce and the electric technology is superior from that of Japanese.BMW Megacity benefits from an aluminum chassis and a fiberglass passenger cell. These elements are making from the small German model, an extremely reliable car, light and resistant to rust. Megacity has a transmission with a single speed, it provides a special robustness and performances. Also, the Bavarian manufacturer guarantees a pretty good range. Unlike conventional vehicles, the Megacity's structure has 50% fewer parts, it can be quickly assembled, and therefore cheaper.
BMW published just a sketch of the concept. But there is no precise information about how this model will look.
Under the hood of the Bavarian model will be a 170 horsepower engine, which will provide a torque of 250 Nm.
