Lotus City Car Concept will go into production in 2013

Lotus City Car Concept was presented at the Paris Motor Show. The British manufacturer has decided that the model will also benefit of a serial version.

City Car will be produced in collaboration with Proton, the parent company and another manufacturer. Dani Bahar, Lotus chief, said that the British model will go into production in October 2013.

City Car is equipped with a 72 hp electric motor, capable of producing
239 Nm of torque. The car weighs 1399 kg and reaches 100 km/h in 9 seconds. The model can reach a top speed of 170 km/h. In electric mode, the car has a range of only 59 km. But the little concept benefits also of a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder thermal unit, which greatly increases autonomy.
